In 2023-2024, Fort Collins Museum of Discovery worked with local community partners and the Mexican Cultural Center in Denver to bring two acclaimed artists specializing in the art of cartonería, Óscar Becerra Mora and Rubén Mica, to Fort Collins to share their work and the history of alebrijes with the community.
Their presence in Fort Collins created lasting memories for all who engaged with the artists, and lives on in the monumental alebrije that was made for the museum and the community, inspired by the region's fauna.
