Many of the drones spotted over New Jersey last year were authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. In December, the FAA, FBI and several other federal agencies received thousands of reports from residents concerned about drone activity, leading to the federal government holding an investigation.
