A home in North Carolina’s Outer Banks was swept away as Hurricane Ernesto brought hazardous surf conditions to the region on Friday.
The National Weather Service Newport/Moorehead said large and powerful swells from Ernesto would produce strong rip currents as well as several coastal threats over the coming days due to higher than normal tides.
This video shows surf slamming into an unoccupied home in Rodanthe before eventually washing it away.
The Chicamacomico Banks Fire & Rescue advised anyone in the area not to enter the ocean as “the debris will be washing around for the next few days.”
