In this video I am tooling a unique floral design into vegetable tanned leather. I am using Hermann Oak full grain natural veg tan to make a leather putter cover.
The tooling process first begins with a swivel knife that I use to carve the line work. After that I use a variety of hand tools to bring the design to life. I use a maul to strike each tool, one hit at a time, to leave each impression. This is a very long process, but the end result is a beautiful piece of functional art!
