You Won't Believe How Much Weight These Actors Lost For Their Roles In Movies!
Subscribe:
The amount of work an actor puts into shedding the pounds for a new role can be shocking. George Clooney’s weight-loss for Netflix’s “The Midnight Sky” actually landed him in the hospital, while Kumail Nanjiani’s transformation into a buff superhero for Marvel’s “The Eternals” meant an entire year of daily workouts and no sugar or carbs. Tom Holland’s regime to star in “Cherry” involved a six-week bootcamp, and Daniel Radcliffe had to lose 35-pounds to play a survivalist in “Jungle.”
But extreme weight loss isn’t healthy, and these actors are very aware of that. Zoe Kravitz, Lily Collins and Anne Hathaway struggled mentally when slimming down for important roles, and Jennifer Lawrence couldn’t wait to indulge in her love of food after playing a ballerina in “Red Sparrow.” She was even asked to slim down for another one of her famous roles but refused. It’s also tough for actors to become slim when we’re used to seeing them incredibly fit and extremely buff, like Charlie Hunnam, Chris Hemsworth, and Henry Cavill. Other shocking weight losses include Jacob Batalon, who’ll look like a completely different Ned Leeds in the upcoming Spider-Man; Mark Ruffalo, who lost and then gained weight to play twin brothers; and Harry Melling in “The Queen’s Gambit”, who’s now almost unrecognizable as Dudley Dursley from “Harry Potter.” Check out our video for all of the shocking weight loss regimens these actors and more underwent to bring their characters to life in the movies and TV shows we love.
